Custom Anti-Snoring Appliances and Nightguards

Do you snore, clench and/or grind your teeth?

If you clench and/or grind your teeth, but do not have obstructive sleep apnea, it is still important to treat these conditions to prevent or reduce headaches and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain, as well as irreversible tooth wear and tooth breakage.

If you do not have obstructive sleep apnea, but snore and would like to reduce or eliminate your snoring, you can consider an anti-snore appliance.

  • For those who clench or grind their teeth, a custom upper or lower nightguard is recommended to reduce the stress/forces on your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and teeth.

If left untreated, clenching and grinding can lead to headaches and TMJ pain, as well as irreversible tooth wear and tooth breakage.

You may have heard of nightguards that can purchased over-the-counter and heated in hot water to shape over your teeth. However it is difficult to do this accurately, and when worn long-term, they can cause pain or damage to your TMJ, as well as tooth movement. Our nightguards are custom-made for you based on a digital 3D scan of you upper and. lower teeth (no radiation involved).

There are also other underlying factors, such as stress and anxiety that may contribute to your clenching and/or grinding. If you would like to discuss this further, our psychiatrist would be happy to see you.

  • Although snoring itself is not a medical condition, it can still affect your sleep as well as the sleep of those around you.

A custom anti-snoring appliance can be custom-made for you based on a digital 3D scan of your upper and lower teeth (no radiation involved) to address your snoring.
